Minneapolis, Minnesota Trip to Visit Megan

Ethan and I took our first trip alone to Minnesota at the end of September to visit Megan. Derrick was going to be in Las Vegas for a work event and I thought it was time to take a "Mommy and Me" trip to see how it would go. Although it took us almost 5 1/2 hours to travel there (normally a 3 1/2 hour drive) due to the frequent stops Ethan insisted we make (he didn't enjoy looking at the back of the seat for the whole ride and we stopped about every hour due to his protesting), and the fact that the digital camera got broken while we were there... overall, it was a great time!

Megan's place is great! She lives in Minneapolis (Uptown) in a trendy, young and fun area where there are lots of shops, places to eat and things to do. We couldn't have asked for better weather while we were there (it was summer-like and the fall colors were beautiful!). We relaxed and enjoyed catching up on lost time. We ate great food (went shopping and cooked at home together), had great conversation, and stayed up WAY TOO LATE and I realized it had been TOO LONG since we had done anything of the sort and hope to continue the trips to keep in touch.

Ethan enjoyed exploring Megan's "semi-baby-proofed" apartment and got into almost everything he could. He was obsessed with a small area on her hardwood floors where a piece had splintered off. He would touch it over and over to feel the interesting texture.

He didn't sleep well while we were there, waking almost every 2 hours and crying to go back to sleep... this was not a positive experience for Megan or her neighbors... but we got through it, she was a great sport!

Meg lives near a chain of lakes with walking/bike paths and we spent a lot of time walking and enjoying the beautiful weather. I got some great pictures but am sad that I didn't get a picture with Meg. The area was beautiful and it was absolutely a wonderful trip! I can't wait for the next one!
