We watched in awe today as our very hungry caterpillar transformed into a chrysalis. It was amazing to see the transformation happen before our eyes, Ethan couldn't believe how green he was and how much he wiggled around after shedding his skin. I was amazed too and couldn't help but wonder what it looked like inside with all the thrashing and thrusting.
The total transformation from shedding the skin to chrysalis was around 15-20 minutes. We got a few pictures, but they don't do the live experience justice.
Go check out the milkweed near you home... you might just find a small caterpillar waiting to be observed!
