Sea World - San Antonio, Texas

Sea World has limited hours in December (they are only open on the weekend) so even though we just arrived in town, we had to go today if we wanted to go at all.

Before we left home, Derrick had shopped around online for tickets, tried to find Groupon deals, and we even called to see if they offered a homeschool discount (nope).  He ended up finding discounted tickets on Craigslist for $20 or less a person so we purchased those and hoped for the best.

We got them in the mail before we left, and as we were approaching the gates of the park, we were crossing our fingers that they all would actually work.  The discount paid off... they worked!  We even got discounted parking for one vehicle as well, so double bonus.

It was a fun day (although it was chilly) and we stayed until the park closed for the evening.

Although it was stinky, the penguins were pretty impressive.

We attended the Pets Ahoy animal show and had a few laughs as well as the undivided attention from our kids as they watched the pets fly, jump, climb and balance their way across the stage.  It was cute, and worth heading inside to watch and warm up.

I couldn't believe the cat jumped from that high.

Shamu had birthed a calf a few days before we arrived, so there was no show.  It was neat to see the baby though.

Everett had fun running wild and trying all the slides!

The play area was a lot of fun for climbing, running, bouncing and rolling around.

This is type of ride is always a favorite of the kids.

Clyde and Seamore had a Christmas special for their guests

Candycane Lane was worth a stroll.

The kids thought it was pretty impressive.

It was getting colder, but we enjoyed the beluga whale and dolphin show right before we left.
