The rain cleared late last night, so before the gold mine tour today with friends, Derrick and I took the kids to a nearby playground (Rainbow Park) in Sliverthorne. It sounded like a pretty cool playground with a lot of things to do, so we decided to check it out.
The slides were slightly wet, so we wiped them off with a beach towel, and the kids had fun climbing, sliding, hanging, twisting and running!
After playing, we loaded up and drove to Breckenridge to
Country Boy Mine for a scheduled tour with our group of friends. We were able to get a discounted rate as homeschoolers (adults were still $26 but the kids all got in for $12 each) so that helped cut the cost a little. It was one of their last tours before winter season arrived, so we were lucky to be there in time for a tour. It was interesting and a neat experience.
